Advanced Certificate – Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Primary Care

The Advanced Certificate PNP-PC at NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing is designed for MSN-prepared nurses who want to add the PNP-PC specialty.

Tuition is approximately ~$1,800/credit derived. Total credits are determined by a gap analysis and will vary by student.

Program duration is not clearly stated.

Three prerequisite “Ps” at the graduate level must have been completed within the past 5 years.

Certificate Curriculum

The certificate curriculum is individualized based on a gap analysis of prior graduate coursework. The following graduate-level prerequisite courses must have been completed within the past 5 years:

  • Advanced physiology/pathophysiology (general principles, lifespan)
  • Advanced health assessment across the lifespan (all human systems, advanced techniques)
  • Advanced pharmacology (pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, pharmacotherapeutics of all broad drug categories)

The population component courses from the MS PNP-PC track form the basis of the certificate curriculum. Actual course requirements are determined individually after admission through the gap analysis process.

After determining admissibility, NYU conducts a gap analysis of prior coursework to develop a customized curriculum plan — this may result in a different semester start than applied for, as not all courses are offered every semester.

View more program details on the official certificate page.
